My therapy approach is informed by effective, evidence-based treatments, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Systemic Family Therapy. I work with people who experience a wide range of difficulties and challenging situations, including:
- Anxiety (including: social anxiety, panic attacks, obsessive compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, generalised anxiety and phobias)
- Depression
- Trauma and abuse
- Relationship problems
- Gender identity difficulties
- Parenting problems
- Illness and injury
- Sleep problems
- Deliberate self-harm
- Eating issues
- Alcohol and drug problems
- Grief and loss
- Stress management and work burnout
- Anger management
Contracts – I hold contracts with ACC for Sensitive Claims & Physical Injury Claims
In addition to the above, please feel free to contact me to talk through any concerns or difficulties you are experiencing. Together we can figure out which problems you would most like help with at this time. The number of therapy sessions needed will depend on the difficulties to be addressed and on your personal goals. A treatment plan will be developed and discussed with you following the initial assessment appointment, and progress towards your therapy and individual goals will be reviewed together regularly.
